[ Personality ] :
 

 

First and foremost, Yuno is a stalker. She knows where Yukiteru (whom she lovingly calls ‘Yukki’) is at all times and what he is doing, to the point that she had even kept a diary about him. It later on turned into the Yukiteru Diary when the Survival Game began, and it’s done nothing but help her stalk him even more, much to his dismay. She claims her stalking him is out of love, and uses it to her advantage to get closer to Yukki. She has been stalking him ever since she fell in love with him, which was when they had talked together about their dreams during which he had told her he wanted to see the stars with his family. Wanting to see the stars with him but being refused because she was not family, Yuno then said she would become his bride. Yukiteru thought it was a joke at the time, though, and was completely oblivious to her stalking him until she revealed she was a diary holder too.
 

 

Yuno is the perfect example for what the term ‘Yandere’ stands for. She loves Yukki so much that she is possessive of him, wanting nobody close to him but herself. To the point that she will even kill people she deems to be interfering with their relationship, whether it be threatening her good standing with him or just simply wanting to befriend him. Yuno has even gone as far as to kidnap Yukiteru and hold him hostage so that they could remain together. But at first upon meeting them, she will try to be nice to them and do nothing drastic until they set her off in some way. An example would be his mother; Yuno broke into their household and proceeded to try to impress her on their first meeting by cooking and cleaning, and succeeded. Later that night Yuno commented to herself that it was good Yukki’s mom approved of their relationship, otherwise she would have had to use her knives to persuade her to, and had even brought a bag full of them for the occasion.
 

 

She also will go to great lengths to protect Yukiteru, not thinking of her own wellbeing over his first. This is evident with every battle they have with other diary holders, where in the end Yuno is typically the one doing the dirty work to save him from meeting a DEAD END flag. This of course means she has to bring them to their own, and kills them before they can hurt her precious Yukki. He, although, is afraid of her and his fears get escalated when told by other people like Akise Aru that she is merely tricking him and is going to betray him. Despite his fears and what he’s told he sticks with her, because he also knows that he can’t survive the game without Yuno and her diary.

 

Yukiteru uses her for the most part through the majority of the game, which is something Yuno doesn’t mind in the least bit since she firmly believes that he will eventually fall in love with her and they will have a HAPPY END on July 28th.
 

 

As evidenced from the Survival Game already, Yuno has absolutely no problem with killing people in her way of being happy with Yukki. But it goes beyond even the game, she will go after anyone who becomes too close to him, going back into the already-mentioned possessive behavior she exhibits. In occasions such as when Yukiteru and Yuno, along with his newly made friends, were being chased and Yukki and herself were possibly going to read DEAD END flags, Yuno simply suggests leaving them all behind to get killed so that Yukki and her can escape safely, to which he refused. She absolutely hates him having anyone other than herself, stating to him that he doesn’t need friends because she’s there. Thus, she doesn’t care in the least bit for their lives and will let them die, another example being when Yukiteru was about to be killed by Minene Uryu after his ‘friends’ and classmates betrayed him and gave him up to her. Yuno, furious, ran out of the booby-trapped classroom to save him which simultaneously causing everyone in it and the neighboring rooms to be killed in bomb explosions. She did it because she sincerely believed that they all deserved to die, and that Yukki was only safe with her and didn’t need anyone else because they would only end up hurting him in the end.

A major happening in Yuno’s past that has influenced how she is now would be her parents. Yuno grew up in an abusive household, they would lock her in a cage and starve her in order to try and control her so that she would learn to be what they wanted her to be and to look perfect in the eyes of society. Eventually she snapped and locked her parents in cages as revenge to show them how it felt, but they ended up starving to death. Not sure what to do, Yuno hid the bodies in the house and used the cover that they were at work overseas so nobody would become suspicious. This has had a major obvious impact on her and is an important part of her past, and something she tries at all costs to hide from being found out. But even more-so that she tries to keep secret is the identity of the third body Akise discovers along with her dead parents in her household, which is the body of none other than Yuno Gasai. The living Yuno is really from an alternate world that came to fix how things went in her own Survival Game, making anyone that tries to tell Yukiteru to truth, like Akise, her main target to take out so that he can never learn the ugly truth about her. But to get close to Yukki, Yuno was forced to kill the Yuno of this world and take her place in the game. So obviously, Yuno has problems. Plenty of them.

 

 

 

 

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

 

 

 

 

Strengths:
 

 

She is very protective of what she loves, i.e. Yukiteru. She will never let anything bad happen to him if she can help it, and will do anything she can to keep him safe. Even if it means she will have to kill whoever the threat may be.
 

 

Yuno is very good at getting into places she shouldn’t, as witnessed at her breaking into Yukiteru’s home while he was out. Although she isn’t so great at hiding her entrances such as obviously broken windows where there weren’t any before.
 

 

It’s evident that she is great at cooking and cleaning. She cleaned Yukiteru’s room so that it was spotless in the short amount of time he was out, and even cooked dinner that was praised by his mother whom is very picky about her food.
 

 

Yuno is also quite intelligent. Yukiteru states that she was an honor student and in the top grades of the class, and she proves her intellect when the situation calls for it.
 

 

She is also good at keeping secrets, going as far as to hide three dead bodies inside of her home. Yuno covered it up stating they were gone overseas doing business work, and nobody had suspected otherwise until Akise Aru came along.

 

 

 

 

Weaknesses:
 

 

Yuno is extremely possessive of Yukiteru Amano. She’ll go to the point of killing anyone who could be a potential love interest for him, or even simply his friend. Even more-so though she will go after anyone threatening the safety of their relationship and will go as far as to kidnap him to keep him from leaving her.
 

 

One very obvious weakness of Yuno’s is simply that she is crazy. She is what one could easily call a psychopath, killing people with a smile on her face and all for just the love of a boy. This obviously causes plenty of trouble for the two of them, even with the police in certain instances.
 

 

Yuno is very violent when she is angered. She has been violent enough in instances to kill a large amount of the members of a cult single-handedly with only an axe driven by the rage of Yukki not believing her that Tsubaki was tricking him, and wanting to save him from dying.

 

Overall, Yuno’s main weakness would be that she loves Yukki –too much-. It’s the main part of her character. But at the same time this could also count as a strength, as her love for Yukki can hold her back from doing anything fatal to someone if he asks her to. But it is overall a weakness, as even sometimes if he so much as praises her she will just get more motivated to go for the kill.

Yuno tapped away on her cellphone, texting Yukiteru. She had sent him somewhere over 30 already and it was only 11pm, but what did that matter? She just was hopeful he'd talk back to her. Of course, he hadn't actually given her his email or anything, so he was probably so surprised by the texts he wasn't sure how to reply to her.

No response.
 

 

 

Still nothing in reply. Getting impatient, she resent the text to him. He was probably sleeping already, but she couldn't be too sure. All three were greeted by silence, much to her displeasure.
 

 

"Hmm, I guess Yukki goes to bed pretty early, huh?" she mumbled to herself, but then had a sudden thought and grinned.
 

 

"Oh, I could just check the diary to see if he's asleep!" Yuno spoke aloud, the only other noise in the empty house notable being her buttons clicking on her phone to close out of her inbox and get into the Yukiteru Diary. Sure enough, it said he was still awake. She rushed to text him again.
 

 

 

Silence. Oh well, Yukki must be preoccupied is all. She'd be sure to grasp her opportunity to speak to him later. After all, who else did he have to talk to? Nobody. She was all Yukki had and would ever need, so of course it wouldn't be anyone else.
